- Already started the Spring cleaning! oh there is so much dust around here and the constructions seem not to cease any time soon. also decided on when to start growing my wheat sprouts(Sabzeh) to be at a reasonable height by the Spring Equinox.
- drove all the way up from Denver to Boulder today to secure our limited Norooz (New Year) tickets...Oh I'm so excited to finally see some familiar faces after a couple of years...
- have decided what color hyacinth and Tulip flowers to get for our display for the Persian New Year this year.
- missing the spring fever and being back home the most around this time, when
all the windows and walls are washed,
carpet's shampooed and in bright red color,
gold fish swimming in the tiny glass bowl,
and all the furniture coverings removed.
The smell of fresh flowers, mixed nuts, home made Samanoo, fresh sweets, and new shoes!
Eid didani and all the cash gifts and plans for how to spend them...
the sight of 'Pansi' flowers in wooden boxes,
thousands of little gold fish swimming around in big metal pots filled with cold water for sale on the side streets,
super crowded streets filled with anxious people trying to get their shopping list done
and put a smile on their faces for once,
Premium Oranges and Apples for guests only...(smile)
the family reunions, new year card writing and phone calls,
trips to Caspian sea, Esfahan, and Shiraz
and no school for 13 days!
Smell of Bahar Narenj fruits in Shiraz....
and guess what I'm in tears as I'm typing about these...
Nostalgia!
Fortunately, there is not much to worry since I get to go there once again in a little while after 3 years and maybe check back on some of those places and show them to Arah after all.
Arah at our 'Haft-Seen' table around the same time last year
... on the other hand
getting way over due for:
- a new hair cut!
- getting Arah's passport for our upcoming trip
- getting the rebate form for my new 4G Android filled out. I'm so addicted to this new gadget's YouTube player already!
- while Arah was in great hands with her grandparents we spent our monthly date on one of the last weekends of this winter up in the mountains skiing for a half day on the more difficult slopes minimizing our falls..., I mean improving our techniques. well... I guess we're gonna miss this winter a little after all...(smile)
