You are 9 months old!

This post will be picture heavy. I know I have been very bad with keeping up with my posts lately but there have been long stories beyond the time I have here so I'll just get right to the point for now. The most prominent part of Arah's 9th month was her first trip ever outside of Denver! With my cousin Roya's wedding in Boston and so many family members on the east coast it was the best reason to do it and let Arah meet other members of the mom side of her family. Despite my dreaded fears of keeping a 9 month old baby under control and my sanity in place for 4.5 hours she did quite remarkably in the plane - thanks to a  free extra seat, and a crowd of child friendly/pleasing people and their mere willingness to keep her busy and distracted!!! She had been facing the back side of our seats and checking out rear passengers' faces, voices and moves carefully almost the entire time and was quite entertained and content with what she was discovering and they had to say to her. She spent a good amount of time playing pick-a boo and horsey sounds with them as well! And at times when people where not paying attention to her any more she would turn back to us and explore with a dozen simple new toys I bought from Target and was pulling out periodically for her to play and get occupied with for the first time.

We spent the first two nights at my aunt's house in Harvard, attended the wedding and Mehdi left us on Sunday to be back to work and we moved to Bedford to my cousin's house on Monday. Arah was thrilled to get to know how many family members she actually has who love her very much!

It was a memorable night getting to see so many family members from across the States together after so many years!  We wish our new bride and groom many happy years ahead together.

After the wedding and all the fun and memorable reunions, we spent time with mommy's cousins on Monday and Tuesday and visited downtown Boston.

We then ended our day at the Persian 'Molana' restaurant with a nice dinner and music.

An interesting resemblance between a picture that we found in one of Shiva's childhood albums:

It is always hard to say goodbye to so many uncles, aunts, and all the family members and the good memories but we just hope that these reunions get repeated and we see everyone soon again.

Hiking:

We spent a good part of of the summer and your 9th month in particular hiking in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. With the hiking carrier that we got just in time for a perfect season in Colorado it was super easy and fun to finally be able to get out and do our favorite outdoor activities.  You proved that you're a true nature lover like us and a genuine Rockies' girl! You enjoyed the ride on daddy's back and seeing the meadows, hills, wildlife including a wild momma and baby turkey and deers from up above!  I remember the days when I was a little girl and my dad used to put me in one of the same carriers and take me all the way  to the top of the Darband hills in Mountain Alborz back home and I was so happy and excited to be out there that I wouldn't want to get off nor did I want to say anything so we wouldn't have to come back!  It is amazing how the history repeats itself and now my dear it is your turn to get on the carrier and enjoy the ride! Those days were some of the best parts of my childhood and I hope it will be the same for you as well.

Boulder Retreat:

Boulder is a usual favorite spot for our family. We go there at least twice a month especially in the summers. You particularly enjoy the street piano performance, and the surprise fountains! We then take a stroll along the Pearl st Mall and witness all the uniqueness Boulder has to offer, grab a bite or frozen yogurt treat and enjoy the atmosphere and scenery.
