Bed time stories

Giggles and cuddles at bed time

reading ritual- a must have true joy  that splits between mom and dad depending on who is less tired (smile)

and sometimes she chooses to take over and read all to her self-sufficiently. She actually demands taking Caillou's book with her to bed to fall asleep with!

Having another long sleepless night I decided to work on some shapes and letter 'A' to make her tired and ready faster tonight!  She now almost recognizes the 'A' in board books as it stands for her name too.   She's recently been curious about the letters in her toys' warning signs and wants me to spell them out to her and say the whole word and then she would repeat back.  Last night she said  'Atten-sen'= Attention for that matter!  Though I can barely keep my eyes open these days after such long days of constant insatiable questions and practices I'm very pleased with the results of our efforts and her surprising interest level.  I know that it is important that if a child is indicating readiness we don't cease to challenge them so they don't get discouraged, bored and disruptive.  As an example she now actually refuses to repeat some old words she used to repeat back.  like Me: 'Arah say baba'.  Arah: pause ..." I know!!! [quite irritably]"

Some nights she would be making daddy fall asleep!
