It is highly improbable for School of Mines to have ‘snow days’ as I recall the last time we got one was in the blizzard of 2003 when the school was already on Spring break! :S so when I checked the website I was a bit in denial so I had to first rub my sleepy eyes and then tune into CBS 4 to actually see the name scroll down at the bottom of the screen. CLOSED! That was along B Montessori’s snow day so this could really not have come at a better time as we were battling with all kinds of ear infections, fevers and flu like symptoms around here over the past 2 weeks and were at a pressing need of an emergency break to catch up with the 'normal' schedule.
So we took the rest of the day very slowly, played alphabet blocks and geometry puzzles, drank our hot chocolate while watching the snow fall outside the windows and later on the removal team plow 13” of snow off of the sidewalks or consolidate the snow mass on our driveway alley. The snow kept falling during the after noon and Arah ‘helped’ daddy with shoveling the rest out of the drive way.
